Anderson Valley Notes Elect Officers And Local Updates
The Mendocino County Fair and Apple Show Association held its Nov. 18 meeting electing Ralph Cochrane as chairman Rankin Rickard treasurer Walter Richmond Carl Carlson and Archie McDonald to the board. Walter Richmond was re elected chairman and Hazel Nobles re elected secretary. Rankin Rickard named viewer and Fay Dealy alternate director. Nearby meetings included the Anderson Valley Warm Center session Nov. 17 with Richmond presiding and related farm bureau and district activities. A benefit football game Saturday at 2 p.m. supported by the high school team toward new uniforms. The quarterly conference at Philomath Methodist church drew over 50 for a pot luck dinner hosted by the WSCS Judies. Rev. Donald Baldwin spoke as district superintendent with plans for the district rally in Ukiah. A farewell party for Mrs. Norman Rowley, moving to Utah, will be held Saturday.

Christmas Seal Drives Support Mendocino TB Program
Dr. C R Kroeger calls for generous Christmas Seal purchases to fund Mendocino County Tuberculosis association efforts. The year’s mobile X ray survey screened 6223 films with 146 suspicious results, 12 hospitalizations, 76 total hospitalizations since July 1952, and 101 known county TB cases. Continued screening remains essential to find unknown cases.
