Boy of 12 Killed When Rifle Misfired at Fort Bragg
Wayne King, 12, was killed instantly at 3 p.m. Wednesday when a 22 caliber rifle discharged while his 11 year old friend cleaned it at James Kenny's home, 450 North Harrison street. The rifle bullet struck King in the eye as he stood about eight feet away. Coroner Bartolomie and deputies continue the investigation. The boy's body was taken to Cain Funeral Home. he is the son of Theodore King of 335 Corry street.

County plans zone study Monday after hearings
Approved by the county planning commission the revised county wide enabling zoning ordinance will be pre ree hone of eet visors ay with recommendation it be approved. Plea Today in Ukiah Shooting Case by Bishop
Bishop Robert Stanley, 50, of Ukiah, to enter a plea on an assault with a deadly weapon charge before Judge Fred Gosa in Ukiah. He allegedly shot Jack Doak, 40, at a trailer court north of Ukiah after Doak found his wife with Bishop. Doak was taken to a San Francisco hospital for brain surgery and was expected to recover. the shooting occurred last Friday at an auto wrecking yard.

Conservation Council Receives 2500 Dollar Grant
The Redwood Region Conservation council won a 2500 educational research grant announced at Ukiah Circle Monday at the Palace Hotel. Drowning in Auto Accident Leads to Suit for $100,000
A $100,000 damage suit was filed in Superior court this week against the estate of the driver of a sports car which plunged into Blue Lake in Lake County on July 31, 1955, claiming the deaths of two people. Plaintiff William Greer Cramer, husband of Violet Cramer, was a passenger. the deceased were Mrs. Violet Cramer and Richard Dale Smith. Laura Gullett, administratrix of Smith’s estate, is named as defendant. Kasch and Coak represent the plaintiff.

Attorney for John R Eastteam files notice of intention to move for a new trial in the $27000 personal injury case against O L Hull. A superior court jury denied damages March 13 after a two day trial before Judge Hale McCowen. Eastteam alleges he was injured when struck by Hulls auto near the Talmage road railroad crossing. Mendocino County's June 5 primary looks to have only one county office contest unless activity spikes in the next two days. Filing ends 5 p.m. Friday as Charles Anderson filed to oppose incumbent Paul Poulos in the District 2 supervisorial race, with Districts 1 and 4 unopposed and Superior Judge Lilburn Gibson facing no challenger.
