City Business Manager Charles Keene announced $3,500 for two more phases of the master street lighting plan. A four year old boy, Ronnie Wayne Adams, died after being struck by a car driven by 19 year old Dale Wilson Mabery on a Navarro county road near the Navarro elementary school around 2 15 p m. Investigating officer Warren Ingram of the California highway patrol said a group of youngsters were playing on the road when Mabery attempted to drive between two of them. The incident remains under investigation by the highway patrol and coroner’s office.

Council Buys Garbage Disposal Site Four Miles East of City

Roger Owen Clemens aged 19 was held to answer in the superior court on arson burglary and grand theft after a preliminary hearing before Judge Will Van Dyke in the Ukiah district court. The charges stem from a January 15 fire at 205 South Hortense Street theft of an automobile and a church break in at First Presbyterian. Timber Truck Fire Near Ukiah Destroys Load
A loaded timber truck owned by Co. A. Nannemuaker of Eureka and driven by Daniel Marcelli burned early this morning on Highway 101 about eight miles north of Ukiah. Brakes on the right rear wheel caught fire causing the trailer to burn and part of the lumber to be destroyed. driver detached the trailer and moved the cab to safety before Redwood Valley fire department arrived.
