Yes vote urged on My Ranch land plan in Mendocino
Voters face two issues on next Tuesday’s ballot concerning the My Ranch referendum. The measure asks whether to uphold supervisors’ approval of a conditional use permit for Jeff Dennis to develop a residential recreational project in Round Valley and whether a landowner may alter how he uses his own land. Restrictions tied to the permit enforce county functions and closely monitor roads water sewers and public safety. Dennis proposes restricting development to about one quarter of 28 800 acres with the rest kept as a green belt. If voters reject the supervisors decision Dennis would revert to A-1 and follow only the general subdivision ordinance. Safeguards include no tax increase since Dennis would pay for essential services and the county public works director would approve all road sewer and lot plans. The ballot asks voters to choose Yes for My Ranch.
