Liston Pounds Patterson in First Round to Claim Title

Bowling Leaders Spark Yokayo League Night

Sue Burnham posted a 206 high game and Pat Smith a 468 high series to lead last Tuesday’s Yokayo Bowl Latch tes League. Team 4 and Teams 6 7 tied for first with three wins in four games, earning extra credit for a win. Rita Sperry trailed Sue.

Bowling league opens with record scores at Yokayo Bowl

The Splits swept their opening match 4-0 in the Sunday Ukiah Mixed Foursome at Yokayo Bowl. Chuck Lowe led with a 513 series and 186 high game, Ron Hunter added 186, while team totals featured 2240 by Team 4 and high team game 591 by the Splits. Daniels and Harlowe and Team Nine posted perfect 4-0 scores in other leagues.

Los Angeles Seeks 1968 Olympic Bid

Los Angeles, host of the 1932 Games, is viewed as having a one in five chance to win the 1968 Olympic bid. Patterson Fight Ends Quick as Liston Stops Patterson

Newport Rhode Island UPI Weatherly clinched the 111 year old America's Cup by a half- mile victory over Gretel the Australian challenger in the fourth race of a best of seven series. Skipper Bus Mosbacher and crew delivered a decisive win as Sir Frank Packer acknowledged a strong foe and hinted at a return. Commodore H Irving Pratt noted no new challenge had been received. Britain may enter if they challenge within 30 days. Next series likely in 1944.

Giants Not Out Yet Find Hope In Win Over Cardinals

San Francisco Giants stay within two games of the Dodgers after a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
