Temple may file libel suit over Examiner articles

Judges Turn Planners Discuss Lot Splitting Practices

The board of supervisors heard a discussion on illegal lot splits and how judges may affect subdivision rules. Land use consultant Donna Schwarzman cited cases where estates were divided by judges, bypassing county land division ordinances. Surfwood development hearing set for Mendocino County

The Mendocino County planning commission will hold a public hearing Thursday on a Surfwood Properties coastal development plan. The proposal includes condominiums houses subdivision lots a mobile home park and a recreational area with a golf course and open space. The site lies about one mile north of Mendocino bounded by Russian Gulch State Park Jackson State Forest Jack Peters Creek and it will be heard at 1 30 pm in the supervisors chambers at the county courthouse.

Ukiah Area to Form Community College District

Voters in Ukiah Anderson Valley Willits and Round Valley unified districts approve forming a local community college district by a 2 815 to 1 337 margin turnout 35 percent. Seven trustees elected from seven areas will organize within 20 days with a goal to open by 1973 74 and operate in modest form.

Mendocino Board Cancels $61,000 NCO Contract Over Revenue Sharing

Mendocino County supervisors rescinded a $61 000 contract with North Coast Opportunities after Welfare Director Dennis Denny warned that a revenue sharing bill could cut state and federal social service funds.
