Pickup Driver Drifts, Crashes Into Power Pole

Ukiah Hopland Russian River Channel Hood-Damage Repair Starts
Flood damage repair on the Russian River channel between Ukiah and Hopland began this week under a Federal Civil Defense Administration funded project. Contracts totaling 122670 were awarded to four firms with a fifth pending. Arthur B Siri Co of Ukiah received 77330 for major work, others went to Eckley Construction Reno 23400 Reed and Tuttle Ukiah 6240 and Pete Barretta Healdsburg 5700. Work is emergency repair, not long-term improvement, with nine projects on 24 river properties and completion targets within 60 days for several contracts. A longer stabilization program is planned for next year.

George Dodge Dies Suddenly at Boonville Home
George Dodge 40 a Pacific Gas and Electric service agent and Boonville resident for eight years died suddenly at his home last night. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Welts Funeral Home Santa Rosa with military services at Golden Gate cemetery. Survived by wife Dorothy and six children, all of Santa Rosa.
