Lake brush fire near CLEAR LAKE contained by evening
Fire officials expected a 2,000 acre brush blaze in Yolo County to be under control by 6 p.m. after crews of 300 firefighters six airplanes two helicopters and seven bulldozers battled 100 degree heat and a deliberately set fire. Two firefighters were hospitalized for smoke inhalation and irritated eyes. No structures were damaged as investigators probe the arson while the blaze neared the Yolo Napa Lake counties junction.

Ukiah Unified District resumes after vacations with 5900 K-12 students and 265 teachers returning Monday.
