Bodies Found on Boonville Road Linked to Hells Angels

Three fairly well preserved bodies, two men and a woman, were unearthed late Monday on Boonville Road west of Ukiah by Mendocino County sheriff's deputies and state agents. Officials hinted a link to the Sonny Barger Oakland trial while withholding many details amid ongoing investigation and pending identifications.

Taxable sales rise in Mendocino County in 1972 Q2

California Board of Equalization reports Mendocino County taxable transactions hit 31.483 million in the second quarter of 1972, up from 28.717 million in 1971. Apparel and home goods grew, while general merchandise slipped. Ukiah, Willits, and Fort Bragg posted higher quarter totals with autos leading gains.

Public hearing on coast rezoning set for tomorrow

The board of supervisors will hold a public hearing tomorrow November 1 at 2 p m on planning commission recommendations for rezoning of the North Fort Bragg area. The open space interim zoning for Inglenook fen is included. Also to be considered are multiple rezoning and age preserve applications including a Strong request for an ag preserve northwest of Covelo. Strong hearing set for 1 30 p m.

Readable weather notes indicate cloudiness increasing through Tuesday night with rain chances expanding from Cape Mendocino northward to Point Arena. Organized crime moves into California says state report

Attorney General Evelle Younger released a Department of Justice study declaring organized crime exists in visible and subtle forms in California. The report notes at least 100 gang type killings in five years, driven by Chinese youth gangs, outlaw motorcycle gang warfare, and narcotics networks.
