Seals Return Home After Tough Eastern Trip

The California Seals, 2-5-2, end a six game swing with a 2-2 tie against the Flyers in Philadelphia thanks to Art Erickson's 15 foot shot with 1:38 left. They host the Rangers in Oakland Wednesday and the Black Hawks Sunday as they chase revival at home. High drama as Swarbrick and Erickson connect on a goal and Hoekstra nets a power play strike for Philadelphia.

Astros slugger Mathews tops major league ballparks list

Eddie Mathews of the Houston Astros has appeared in 19 major league ballparks the most by any player. Williams 93 Yard Kickoff Return Sparks Packers Victory

St. Louis fans saw Green Bay rookie Travis Williams sprint 93 yards for a kickoff touchdown as the Packers beat the Cardinals 31 to 23. Williams called the run his first kickoff return for a TD since high school. Coach Charley Winner lamented the big play while Vince Lombardi praised his team and Bord Dowler’s late score that sealed the win.

Banks Named Lineman of the Week for UOP Defense

Jeff Banks former Ukiah High All-Conference tackle earned Northern California Football Writers Association Lineman of the Week honor for his dominant defensive play at the University of Pacific. He helped shut down San Jose State passing, aiding a 34-12 Tigers victory and rising pro prospects.
