Leafs, Bruins fall in Toronto hockey clash 4 2

Toronto Maple Leafs defeated Boston Bruins 4 2 marking Boston's 28th straight winless visit in Toronto in NHL play. Murray Oliver and Jim McKenney on power plays gave Toronto a 2 1 lead before Ron Ellis sealed it in the final. Warriors fall to Bulls in cold shooting night

The Golden State Warriors lost 101-87 to the Chicago Bulls as a six minute second period field goal drought doomed their offense. Chicago smothered SF with tough defense, moving above .500 in the division. Nate Thurmond managed nine points and one FG through three quarters while Jeff Mullins scored 29 and Jerry Lucas added 17 points and 17 rebounds.

Ukiah Varsity dominates but Lakeport wins JV in cross country

Ukiah Varsity swept the first five of six places and finished near a perfect 15 in a 17 38 win over Lakeport on a 2 75 mile course. Lakeport JV dominated their race 20 39 behind Ted Blank who won the 2 2 mile JV in 13 32 with Ukiah’s Glenn Jensen leading the Varsity in 15 36.
