Jury Deadlocks On Ray Murder Case In California
A Superior Court jury of nine women and three men deliberated for four hours on the special circumstances phase of Mark Peter Ray's trial for the murder of Elizabeth Koetz a 55 year old nurse from South San Francisco. The jury previously found Ray guilty of first degree murder and kidnapping. Ray's companion Sharon Nicolini then 13 testified identifying Ray as the kidnapper and slayer. The second trial will focus on special circumstances and a new trial date is to be set.
