Ukiah boat tragedy near Fort Bragg claims one life
A 59 year old Sam Hecht died when a 22 foot boat ran out of gas and struck rocks off Pudding Creek near Fort Bragg. Fellow passengers William Dowler and Charles Calvert survived. In a separate incident, Gregory Stanford 28, and Iris and Jesse Souza 25, 23, remain missing after waves swept them from rocks at Island Cove south of Point Arena.
