Piercy dynamite theft at Dimmick Mill site
Representatives of the T. M. Dimmick Company in Piercy reported to the sheriff Thursday that 100 pounds of dynamite and 1,000 fuse caps were stolen from a storage shed at the Dimmick Mill site near Piercy within the past two weeks. The burglary, valued at 21 dollars, involved entry by prying the shed hasp from the door with a pry bar. Deputy E. B. Hawkes of Laytonville filed the report.

County approves house numbering plan contract
Mendocino County supervisors accepted an agreement with Edward Carpenter's North Counties engineering firm for a county-wide house numbering program costing 10500. The project starts November 1, 1970 and runs to July 1, 1971 with payments as work progresses and includes incorporated cities in the system.

Final rites set Friday for Reuben Hohnstein
Funeral services for Reuben G. Hohnstein 52 are set for Friday at 2 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary. Owner of Ukiah Sanitary Disposal Service died Wednesday after one day in a local hospital. Rev. Travis Hyatt of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial in Ukiah Veterans Cemetery. Born October 23 1918 in Portland Oregon, he had a family in Ukiah. Surviving are wife Elsie and son Byron both of Ukiah, mother Mrs Elizabeth Hohnstein Oregon, sister Esther Shank Washington and six other sisters in Oregon.

Sam Williams 76 of 219 Ford Street dies Monday in a local hospital of heart failure. Funeral services set for Thursday at 11 a.m. at Eversole Mortuary with Rev. Williams a Christine-born World War I Army veteran lived in the area. survived by nephews and some nieces. pallbearers will be his nephews.
