Champ Denies Planning to Quit the Ring After Ingram Death

World bantamweight champion Jose Becerra denied retirement plans following Walt Ingram's death from injuries after a non title bout. Schoendienst Named National Honorary Chairman for TB Seal Drive

Twyman Leads Royals With Big Weekend

Jack Twyman of the Cincinnati Royals scored 76 points in two nationally televised games to lift his team into first place in the NBA Western Division. He had 39 in a 108 103 win over the Detroit Pistons and 37 in a 103 102 victory over the Minneapolis Lakers, including a coast-to-coast jumper for the winner after a steal from Elgin Baylor. Wilt Chamberlain debuted with 43 points and 28 rebounds for the Philadelphia Warriors in a 118 109 win over the New York Knicks.
