Krogh Says Pentagon Papers Leak Tushed by Foreign Power Hints
Former White House plumber Egil Krogh, 34, says the unit believed a foreign power pressured Daniel Ellsberg to publish the Pentagon Papers. He admits the break in was a mistake and notes national security drove their actions in 1971, though he doubts the President ordered it.

Energy pamphlet cites scarce cheap clean power for California
The State Division of Oil and Gas released a pamphlet arguing California’s crisis stems from a shortage of cheap environmentally acceptable energy rather than overall supply. It projects energy use doubling in 15 years from 2.6 to about 5.2 million barrels daily and categorizes energy as fossil fuels or terrestrial sources. Copies available at multiple division offices and Sacramento headquarters.

Weather Across Florida and Nation Sees Storm and Varied Temperatures
Tropical storm Gilda was reported about 240 miles south of Miami moving northward as the outskirts brought rain to parts of Florida. The southern two thirds of Florida had a few thundershowers while the Great Lakes and north Atlantic coast saw showers. High pressure kept most skies fair elsewhere with increasing clouds from Montana to the Pacific coast. Temperatures ranged from 29 to 77 degrees. California forecasts call for increasing clouds and rain mainly Friday night into Saturday with cooler inland days and fog along the coast.
