Susan Ranta's 4-H sheep wins and backyard project tale
Susan Ranta, age 10, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Ranta, raised a bred Suffolk ewe in her yard at 1622 S Dora St. The ewe won first place and championship at the 12th District Fair in Ukiah and Mendocino County Fair in Boonville. Toad won first and championship as a lamb in the Suffolk breed and will compete again next spring as a yearling ram. Susan's 4-H horse project includes a half Arab mare named Fersha, boarded at the Redemeyer Ranch.
