Guilty Plea Entered by Jeri Gray
Jessie Jeri Gray a 57 year old former bookkeeper for a Ukiah law firm pled guilty to one count of embezzlement covering January 1975 to December 1975. The four count charge stemmed from a scheme of duplicating deposits then skimming funds and discarding the duplicate. She was arrested July 30 and is free on bail awaiting sentencing October 29 at 9 30 p.m.

Lakebed fee plan hearing set for Oct 12 in Lake County
Public hearing before the Lake County board of supervisors will review a lakebed management plan for Clear Lake. The plan funds the lake enhancement program via a public lands occupation fee and a one cent increase in the transient occupancy tax TOT. Currently TOT is five percent. The proposal lists encroachment fees for landfills and structures, with minimums and per square foot charges, aimed at $7,210 in encroachment revenue plus expanding TOT to RV parks and campgrounds for about $16,600. First year total is about $31,100, with subsequent years around $23,890. The plan and ordinance were prepared by the Lakebed Management Citizens Committee led by William Whalen and are available at the county administrator's office in Lake County courthouse.
