Eddie Perkins of Chicago defeated Adolph Pruitt of Los Angeles by a hard earned ten round decision at the Silver Slipper Ballroom. Pruitt, 139, pressed the bout with sharp advances as Perkins countered effectively, leaving Pruitt bleeding from the eye and mouth. No knockdowns occurred though Pruitt was staggered six times. Perkins suffered a cut lip in the ninth. This marked Perkins’s repeat victory over Pruitt in Las Vegas after their April meeting.
