Willits Remco workers end strike and return to jobs
The 118 Engineers Local 3 members ratified a contract ending a strike that began Sept. 18. It provides a seven percent across the board wage increase effective Sept. 18 this year, and six percent raises in 1974 and 1975. The offer includes improved vacation plans, health coverage, and a pension plan to be detailed later. Swing and graveyard shift workers returned to work after the vote.

Robbery attempt at Oak Knoll Market ends with suspect fleeing
A gunman wearing a stocking mask entered Oak Knoll Market on S State Street at 9 p.m. He pointed a handgun at Mrs Seeley and demanded cash while owner Veron Seeley and his wife were closing. The thief fled after Seeley returned from the back room, getting into a white vehicle. He was about 5-9 and 155-160 pounds.

A Holland visitor Nick Bessem, 66, was killed when Walter Brown’s car struck a guard railing on Highway 101 near Sherwood Road north of Longvale.
