Mendocino County Sheriff and two Coast Guard helicopters searched the Eel River and Hearst area this morning. the trio left San Francisco with a green military jeep license 1L20899 and camping gear. Brown, 19, a City College of San Francisco student, was last seen wearing a red hooded jacket. exact descriptions of the other two were not available.

Car Plunges Into Tree After Driver Falls Asleep
Seven people in a Ukiah car were injured, three seriously, when the auto left the highway near Hopland at 1 35 AM and struck a tree. Mrs Kirkland and several Carpenters suffered fractures. Roberta Meredith and others had various injuries. Fred Roby helped extinguish a hood fire, likely saving lives. The group was returning from Los Angeles and had been driving all day Monday.
