Early Snow Reaches 2% Inches In Redwood Valley

Redwood Valley residents endured an early snow flare up across four patchy days with a depths up to two and a half inches though sunshine and rain. Community events included 4-H Achievement Night venue shift to Frank Zeek School Ukiah and visits from Anderson Valley and Ukiah Granges.

Durable Fir Plywood spur sparks rail debate at Calpella

Peter J. Onori of Redwood Valley writes from the Redwood Valley area criticizing officials for stalling a rail spur for the Durable Fir plywood plant at Calpella. He argues the spur is essential to move logs by rail, reduce truck traffic, and sustain production while warning that denying the spur risks backsliding to manual log handling.

A visiting delegation from the Anderson Valley Grange stayed with the Hinds family in Clarksburg over Friday night and Saturday. They included Mr. and Mrs. Rea Ingram and family from Navarro and were hosted by Mrs. Sherwood and Mrs. D. C. Connor along with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hinds.

Denver electrician traced John Graham bombing suspect to shop

Denver shop owner Damon Ward said John Gilbert Graham worked six days last month to learn electricity. Graham confessed to the FBI but denied placing a bomb in his mother's luggage. he faces first degree murder charges for the Portland plane explosion killing 44 people.
