Ukiah High presents Timid Dragon and Bad Children stage premiere

Culturally starved audiences in Ukiah will view premieres of The Timid Dragon and The Bad Children this Thursday and Friday at 7 and 8 pm. Tickets are on sale at the student activity box office. Limited Thursday opening requires adult accompaniment by a child under 12.

Career Day impressed seniors despite brief exposure

By Megan Roberts students spent a day touring programs at the State Hospital Juvenile Hall and a drug and alcohol treatment facility. They spoke with a probation officer, toured facilities, and ate lunch with prisoners. The Senior class praised the effort and hopes for a longer event to sharpen career insights.

Grangers Elect 1970 Officers and Harvest Feast

Redwood Valley Grange elected officers for 1970 and closed autumn with a harvest feast at the Redwood Valley renue. Officers include Neglected Master Gunnar Eric non and Overseer Delbert Solgat, steward Jack Barron, secretary Ruth Oliver, treasurer Ted Hinds, chaplain Esther Snook, and other posts. Junior Grangers won prizes at Ukiah and Boonville Fairs, the latter for a booth, plus a parade prize. The state convention featured the Junior Grangers drill and degree team, earning standing ovations and the master’s award for community service. The Harmony Group performed in several towns and won a float prize at Moonville Fair. The harvest feast was a turkey dinner. chairs were Ted and Ethel Hinds et al.
