Mendocino County Special Election Resolution and Boundaries

State Issues Seven Water Permits

The California Division of Water Resources announces seven issued permits and five applications filed related to water usage in Mendocino and surrounding counties. G. P. Bradford, Iceland, receives three cubic feet per second from the Russian River for stockwatering and irrigation of 271 acres. Russell Scott, Salina, gets 0.625 cfs from the same river for 48 acres. Russia conducts another nuclear test in 1955 series

Washington reports that Russia has set off a further nuclear bomb. AEC chairman Lewis L. Strauss said the Soviet Union conducted a new test in its 1955 series. The agency had previously disclosed two earlier explosions in August and September and echoed Britain’s Defense Ministry on the latest test.
