Mission of Joy Plane Crash Claims Four Students

After a two day search rescuers found a plane wreckage in a steep canyon near Irmulco Road seven miles west of Willits. The maroon and gold Cessna 172 carried Rickie Barry pilot 24 Cortez Colorado and passengers Russell Franks 25 Calcutta India Perry Harbin 18 Lynwood and David Fagerstrom 23 Juneau Alaska. The four Bethany Bible College students were killed en route from San Jose to Eureka to sing and preach. A memorial service was planned on campus.
