Virginia visitor drowns at McKerricker Beach amid warning signs

A 37 year old Virginia man, David Anthony Falletti of Arlington, drowned while body surfing with two companions at McKerricker Beach State Park north of Fort Bragg. Large waves knocked him unconscious. he died 90 minutes after arrival at Mendocino Coast Hospital. Two separate beach fatalities and a missing four student plane crash are reported in Mendocino area news.

Dam breach at Toccoa floods claim 37 lives

Rescuers guarded a leaking 200 gallon propane tank through Sunday night and planned to resume search today for more possible victims of a ruptured dam. The disaster sent tons of water cascading through Toccoa and drowned at least 37 people.
