Woman Jailed on Vagrancy Charge by Fort Bragg Judge
Arline June Wilson 23 alias Babe Wilson was sentenced to 45 days in the county jail by Judge Ray Ware of the 10 Mile district. She was arrested by Fort Bragg police for vagrancy and soliciting at a Fort Bragg hotel after being in the county for one day.

Five Die In Navy Seadart Jet Crash At Sea
Three military planes crashed in separate states, killing five. The Navy XF2Y-1 Seadart broke up midair during a public demonstration over San Diego, killing the pilot Charles E. Richbourg. An Air Force T-29 trainer crashed in Tucson, and a C-119 Flying Boxcar went down near San Antonio aboard. Divers recovered Richbourg who died after reaching a dock.

Mary Andrews a 32 year old patient escaped Tuesday from Mendocino State Hospital and traveled from the Bay Region toward Ukiah. A Santa Rosa bus station employee says she bought a ticket to Ukiah at 10 42 a m yesterday but police have not located her. Hospital officials say she has not returned, and her mother Mrs Martha Andrews 74 of Los Angeles County was driven away from the hospital grounds during the escape. A card led San Francisco police to an abandoned car with a dummy gun in the glove compartment. Andrews brother arrived in Ukiah to help search but had not found her by noon today.
