Marge Boynton wife of Dr Searles was named Ukiah Soroptimists Woman of Achievement for community service. The luncheon at House of Garner featured citation by Alyce Thornhill and remarks on her activism in PTA Camp Fire Little League and fund raising for Boy Scouts.

Festival '72 Rodeo Set at Ukiah Fairgrounds

The Festival '72 Rodeo runs June 3 and 4 at Ukiah Fairgrounds with Western Approved Rodeos points toward the western cowboy championship. About 70 rodeos in California Nevada and Oregon award one point per dollar won. Notable past champions include John Wheatley Sacramento in all around and team roping Tom Eddings Lemoore saddle bronc riding Jesse Williams Modesto bareback riding Bob Brdecke Cottonwood bull riding Bob Marshall San Martin bulldogging Dale Carroll Galt calf roping Nita Ginther Clovis girls barrel racing. Memorial Day events enliven Lake County region in 1960s plan

Lakeport Chamber of Commerce and Volunteer Fire Department organize a full Memorial Day weekend with a street parade at 10:30 a m and a public barbecue at Library Park at noon followed by the Firemen s Ball at Lake County Fairgrounds. Lower Lake hosts its 14th annual Daze with a 3 p m parade and 4-H and musical acts. The Northern California Boat and Ski Club premieres its season on Clear Lake at the Aurora Club in Nice with 100 water skiers and 20 hot boats. The Lake County Art League runs a Spring Art Show at the Old Courthouse Green all day with a $1 entry for display.

Former CIA Agent On Action Payroll Sparks Senate Question

Washington reports that ex CIA official Eric H. Biddle Jr. may be paid through Action and works in the Economic Opportunity Office.
