Ukiah and Vallejo stars lead Friday tiny meet
At Santa Rosa Friday night Ukiah, Vallejo, and Marin County clubs vied for the varsity title. Rick Cail led a 24 foot 10 inch long jump and a 9.8 in the 100 while Jerry Johnson clocked 14.3 in the highs and lows to pace Vallejo. Ukiah’s David Gein set a school record with 1:57.9 in the 880, finishing second in a photo finish. Norm Schmitz won the B shot put at 46-11¼ and placed sixth in the discus as Vallejo faced late heat in the two mile program adjustments.
