Covelo Plans School and Community Meetings Overview
Covelo and surrounding areas report a busy slate with a Covelo Augusta Chapter 80 OES meeting featuring Mrs. Ruby Dunlap and a music program led by Mrs. Beatrice Lovell. The Round Valley unified school board met May 23 approving a 1963-64 budget draft, teacher resignations, principal appointment, and a 175-day calendar. The meeting covered pool rules, staffing, contract changes, and a 590 dollar bus down payment. A May 19 installation service for Arnie Ziegler occurred at Covelo Presbyterian Church with a full ceremony and social hall reception. Community notices include local obituaries, weddings, and bus driver wage schedules.
