Ukiah Jayvees win 8 6 as Dana McDonald fires a nine hitter with 10 strikeouts and two late runs. Bruce Nelson homers for Potter Valley, Steve Foster also drives in a run, and Harry Parducci leads Ukiah with three hits. Pot ter Valley rallies with five fifth and seventh inning.

Errors Costly To Ukiah Jayvees

Ukiah Jayvees lose 64 to 2 to Montgomery after two sixth inning errors. Hoyt Estes allowed four runs in the third as Montgomery built a 4 2 lead. Bob Mirata and Harry Parducci hit triples for Ukiah with two others contributing but errors doomed the comeback. Dave Morris led Ukiah with two of seven team hits.

Poile Named Director of San Francisco Seals Hockey Ops

Norman Bud Poile, former Edmonton Flyers manager coach, is named manager of hockey operations for the San Francisco Seals. He will assist Joseph J. Allen as business manager and promotional head. Poile, 39, spent 10 years with the Flyers and will oversee talent development. Max McNabb remains team coach.

Willits and AV Dominate Northwest Track Meet

Willits Wolverines scored 90 points at the Northwest track meet in Willits led by Ray Cataldo double winning the 440 and 220 and Terry Driscoll winning the century and broad jump. Fort Bragg posted a notable 4:41-5 time by Melville in varsity competition. Anderson Valley finished third behind Willits and Fort Bragg, led by Don Dukes in sprints and Tony Summitt in hurdles. Mike Jay of Willits set a B division pole vault record of 11 feet 13% inches.

Scorekeeper's School To Be Held This Week

The Ukiah Police Department offers its briefing room at the Ukiah police station for a two night scorekeeper training event. The Ukiah Little League auxiliary will run free sessions Thursday and Friday at 7 30 p m to help volunteers learn how to score little league baseball and other games.
