Western Hockey League regular season ends with playoff race

United Press International reports Stanford, led by Paul Schlicke and Harlan Andrews, defeated San Jose State 81 to 63 to claim Peyton Jordan's first win over the Spartans. Tom Smith of San Jose set a meet record in the 220 yard dash with 20.7 seconds, while Stanford's Larry Questad beat him in a blanket finish in the 100 yards.
