PG&E seeks approval for 135 MW Geysers Unit 13
Pacific Gas and Electric asks the California Public Utilities Commission to authorize construction of a 135,000 kilowatt Unit 13 at The Geysers. The unit, costing over 17 million dollars, would be the largest yet and first in Lake County, with steam supplied by Signal Oil from Castle Rock Springs. The Geysers has 10 active units in Sonoma County and one under construction, aiming for 15 units by 1977 and 908,000 kilowatts capacity, making it the world's largest geothermal plant.
