Sportsmen May Buck Water Bonds
The Sportsmen's Council of the Redwood Empire joined with California conservation groups to demand guarantees for fish and wildlife in the $2.75 billion water bond. SCRE voted to oppose the measure unless a nonreimbursable cost basis ensures fish, game, and recreational facilities with project construction. The group endorsed a coastal deer season and continued pheasant hunting, and urged flyway based waterfowl regulations plus a return to half hour before sunrise duck shooting.
