Ukiah Prepares Vote on NCPA Power Development Fund
Ukiah city council will act on March 19 to approve a development fund among 12 NCPA members for power generation projects. The fund finances a 300 MW Geysers facility, Sacramento Municipal Utility District nuclear plant, and LA Water and Power San Joaquin nuclear plant with Ukiah liable for 4.74 percent if Palo Alto and Redding opt out, or 3.04 percent if they participate. Ukiah’s share would be about 260700 dollars repaid over five years from bond proceeds. council members stress the need to proceed to protect citizens’ interests. Other NCPA members include Palo Alto, Redding, Gridley, Healdsburg, Lompoc, Alameda, Biggs, Lodi, Roseville, Santa Clara, and the Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative.

Ford expects 8.5 percent unemployment by mid 1975
