Ukiah man charged with murder in stabbing death
23 year old Raymond Youngblood was charged in Ukiah Justice Court after a fatal Jan. 16 stabbing of 62 year old Lyle Combs at his E Clay Street home. Combs died Feb. 7 at a local hospital. Charges include special circumstances tied to armed robbery, potentially carrying the death penalty.

Snider wins Willits council seat in decisive victory

In Fort Bragg voters elected Mathew V. Huber to top the city council race with 540 votes and Paul Delagnes with 499. incumbent Turner M. Holmes lost with 403. Walter Parrish finished fourth with 65. The Noyo Basin annexation failed 83 to 49. In the Fort Bragg Unified School District race Nancy J. Swehla won 565 to 310 for Samuel Swen. other candidates were Nancy Loomis 188 Gary Hudson 168 Donald Washburn 125 and Linda Marble 58. Voter turnout was 45.2 percent citywide and 34.4 percent in the district.
