A group of 31 leaders and PG E officials toured the Sonoma Geysers plant, noting eight generators now in service and two more due by September with two more planned by 1975. When complete the field would reach 608 000 kilowatts, the world’s largest geothermal operation. The tour included Leland Geisenhofer and Ukiah staff. other dignitaries from local government, chambers of commerce, and banks attended. A separate Willits malpractice case ended with a 130 000 dollar settlement after seven trial days, involving Dr. Robert Smalley and the estate of Frank Lawrence.

Logger dies after fall from logging truck near Fort Bragg
A logger, Alto Einar, 56, Fort Bragg, died after either being thrown or slipping from a log deck on a rig owned by A J Gray Logging Co. near Jackson State Park. The driver was James Wade Sanders, 39, Fort Bragg. Two other injury accidents occurred in the Ukiah area. A U S District Court in San Francisco ruled in favor of a Pomo tribe over mismanaged tribal funds from Manchester Point Arena, holding the government liable for breaching trustee obligations and ordering damages after a 1968 suit filed by Jim King.

Pear rancher Louis Johnson dies at 57 in Ukiah
Louis Johnson a noted Ukiah Valley pear rancher and grape grower died of a heart attack at his home on South Hortense Street. He developed the Johnson Giant pear and is survived by his wife Margaret four sons three daughters a brother and three grandchildren.
