Willits man dies after seizure at pool incident
Carl Sagehorn age 28 of Willits died in Ukiah General Hospital after a seizure in the shallow end of Ukiah municipal park pool. He collapsed at 10:50 a.m. and received poolside first aid from Robert Kimberley before being rushed by ambulance. Doctors recovered a faint heartbeat but life signs ceased about an hour later. Sagehorn was found by swim instructor Bob Foster in the pool.

Costs rise again as May CPI climbs 1.1 percent

Ukiah Plans Review Date Set for General Plan
Ukiah Planning Commission may revisit the tentative July 18 date to review the city General Plan. The council forwarded amendments from two public hearings to clarify non conforming uses hillside open space green belt and related definitions. State college board okays coast annexation
LONG BEACH California Community Colleges Board of Governors unanimously backed Chancellor Office plans to annex Mendocino coastal and Lake County free territories into Mendocino Community College District. The Lake County proposal may go to voters as early as November to decide annexation to Mendocino College. If a district rejects annexation it must choose another college district. Residents weigh affiliations with Santa Rosa or Yuba colleges. A coast annexation decision will come later, with a March 1975 election anticipated for the Mendocino coast. Pres Peter DeVries reports the plan places Lake and Mendocino County free territories in Mendocino College service as part of 17 statewide regional plans. DeVries notes only verbal indications exist for a Redwood Valley site pending formal state approval and funding. Lake County officials Bill Kesey and DeVries observed bitter territorial fights over college placement.
