Giants Fall 7-4 as Astros Hurt Franks and Fans Mock Scoreboard

Special Weight Training Course To Start Here

Ukiah offers a three evening per week weight training course starting next Monday. The program, run by Jeep Schmitz, targets freshmen to seniors and post high school athletes, aiming to build strength and muscle in legs arms shoulders back and chest. Hosted by the Ukiah Recreation department at Chessall Gym with all equipment provided, signups will be taken. sessions run 6 30 to 8 30 p m, cost eight dollars for the summer, and participants may attend as able.

Shear's Nine Has Practice Friday

Ukiah Baseball Club manager Brad Shear announced no games for the coming weekend and a Friday practice at 6:30 p.m. at the high school field for all team members. Anton Stadium hosts Western Baseball Association games between the Mendo Braves and Santa Rosa Rose Buds Saturday at 8 p.m. and a Sunday double header at 12:30 p.m. He tried to schedule Bay Area games but no daymounds were available due to strong semi pro interest.

Clay Squares Off With Two Sparring Partners

Lamar Tech Hanging on to Golfing Lead

Lamar Tech held a two stroke lead over Murray State at Paxton Golf Course after two rounds of the NCAA division golf tournament. Tech shot 282 for 560 total while Murray posted 278 to reach 562.
