County Ranchers Push Nine Hole Golf Plan
Ralph Buxton spokesman for the citizens committee outlined a plan to add nine holes to the present golf course for about 34000 with volunteer help and donated material. He contrasted this with 175000 to 200000 or more for a professional nine hole layout. He promised a cost summary for an automatic sprinkler system around 25000 and fairways and greens about 9000. The committee has pledges totaling around 6000 to aid financing and anticipated one time expenses. If approved, underground sprinkler installation and roughing out fairways could be done by volunteers in one or two weekends, as with a recent sprinkler addition. The council will review figures and consider city participation in materials and services during budget sessions.
