Mendocino College faculty seek negotiating panel on pay package

Mendocino Community College trustees offered a good faith salary and fringe benefits package to all employes. Faculty spokesmen requested a committee to negotiate differences in philosophies, revenue sources, and actual pay and benefits priorities for the summer and upcoming 1975-76 year. The board, administration, and a three member faculty salary committee discussed measures to raise and equalize compensation, including a cost of living increase, pay scale alignment with neighboring districts, enhanced health, dental and life insurance, and clearer job descriptions for classified staff. The board proposed the package and, after hours of discussion, unanimously approved presenting it districtwide.
