Surprise farewell honors doctor and wife at Deerwood club
A surprise gathering at the Deerwood Swim and Tennis Club bid farewell to Dr. Al Raitt and his wife as he finishes a psychiatry residency at Mendocino State Hospital. They plan to move to San Bruno, leaving June 21, after a two year stay in Ukiah. The event featured a buffet, roses, and a poster recalling moments in Ukiah.

Norway sardines with fried eggs brunch dish
A unique summer luncheon idea serves Norway sardines and fried eggs in a shallow casserole. Two eggs per dish top with 4 or 5 sardines after draining olive oil. Cook slowly on the stove and serve with buttered toast or muffins.
Proper care for plastics cleaning with water and soap
Do not use solvents on plastics. Clean with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry to prevent damage.
