Box and Tollint led North Little League action with B & T defeating Ukiah Pine Browns 8-2. The Chefs edged the Jaycees 7-5 in a thriller while the Ukiah Cleaners fell to the Lions Club 84. Tim E Berchtel homered and pitched three hitless innings to spark the Lions.

Brown Arrives for Wile Defense in Washington

Lightweight champion Joe Brown arrived with trainer Bill Gore and Archie Swanson for his seventh defense of the 135 pound crown against Italian Paola Rosi. The Pony Grad League and South Ukiah Lite League begin 1959 seasons with mixed schedules. Pony Grads play two games on Tue Wed Fri at Anton Stadium. Haddix to Have Dozen Goblets As League Gift

In Cincinnati the National League will honor Harvey Haddix with twelve sterling goblets and a silver tray inscribed to commemorate his unprecedented May 26 1959 perfect innings performance. League President Warren Giles announced the gift, to be presented before the Pirates visit ends on June 14.
