Log saves worker from being crushed in Valley
A farm laborer, Atolo Loaizo, 32, operating a tractor in an orchard on West Road in Potter Valley, was pinned when the tractor overturned into a creek bed after embankment failure. A log halted the machine, fire crews and farmers freed him, and he was taken to hospital with cuts, bruises, and a swollen left hand.

Lake County deputies arrested Earl Sanders 26 on an Oakland police warrant for robbery and kidnap of a 59 year old man in July. Suspect Patrick Zast 25 was arrested by Oakland police. The victim was forced to write a 260 dollar check at Zast’s apartment before being released. Sanders had a prior Jan 1 1970 arrest in Mendocino County for assault, pled guilty, fined 307 dollars and 62 days in jail.
