Burglaries on coast under investigation
Sunday thefts and burglaries across Mendocino County engage sheriff reports. A car stolen by a resident of Ocean View Boys Home in Ft. Bragg remains unrecovered. Woman Arrested on Ukiah Bad Checks Warrant
Dorothea Osborn was arrested in Calaveras County on a Ukiah Justice Court warrant charging her with issuing bad checks in the Ukiah area. She has four prior convictions for passing bad checks and is held in county jail pending arraignment on the felony charge. The femur or thigh bone is noted as the longest bone in the body.

Gunshot reports prompt Ukiah police inquiry
Early this morning residents heard sounds of gunfire in the Low Gap Road area near Ukiah. Mrs. Kearns reported to police but officers found no source. Over the weekend three shots were reported on Empire Drive with bullets found in a residence. A deputy and city officer also heard shots in the northern city area. A bullet may have been fired from a passing vehicle at Arrowwood Convalescent Hospital late Sunday or early Monday.

Garbage rate increase jolts Ukiah board

Moller rites Thursday in Potter Valley
Albert Harry Moller of Potter Valley died yesterday at 84 in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Potter Valley Cemetery. He was a 17 year resident, member of Forest Hill Masonic Lodge Potter Valley Grange and Loyal Order of Moose. Survivors include daughter Margaret Leard nephew Lionel Murphy three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Arrangements by Eversole Mortuary.
