War Casualty Wins Hogan Golf Award

Charley Boswell, blind since 1944 after a tank explosion in Germany, is named the Ben Hogan Award recipient for the greatest inspirational comeback. A former Alabama halfback and Rose Bowl player, he now captains a Birmingham insurance agency and remains a celebrated figure in blind golf after decades of competition and rehabilitation through the sport.

Turley Voted Pro Athlete of the Year for 1958

West Virginia University suspended three football players for unauthorised entry to the field house to view the master exam.
