Ford imposes first step of energy plan oil tariff

President Ford used executive authority to order a $1 per barrel tariff on imported oil, rising to $3 in April, aiming to cut foreign oil dependence. The move, effective February 1, could lift retail gasoline by 2 to 3 cents a gallon in two months and 8 to 10 cents if the full program passes Congress. Rabies Clinic Continues At County Sites

The county health department sponsors rabies clinics continuing tomorrow from 9 to 5 at the fairgrounds in Ukiah. Additional clinics run 10 to 3 in Fort Bragg at the veterans building and 10 to 4 in Willits at the museum. The $2 fee applies. dogs must be vaccinated at least two years before licensing.
