Willits Splits Weekend Games in Boonville and Friday

Kelseyville defeated Willits 48 to 43 as Ray Kennedy scored 26 for Kelseyville. Rob Carey had 19 for Willits and Warren Lewis 12. Willits B team won 50 to 26. In Boonville Saturday Willits won 60 to 51 with Lewis scoring 20. B team also won 54 to 34.

Examinations Set for Ukiah Valley Women Players

Recreation and Parks Director Stan Stafford calls all high school girls to report Wednesday at 6 30 p m for medical exams at Ukiah High School Women’s Gym. Girls may sign up teams and seek placement as the city league opens in one to two weeks with Wednesday night games.

CSEA and Bartolomei Texaco tangle tomorrow night in a makeup game at Pomolita gym at 7 15 after which another makeup game brings Anton's and Vy A Realty together. Novato Stuns Ukiah In Hot First Half Basketball

Novato used an early burst to seize a 32 16 halftime lead and finish 47 28 over Ukiah. Sparrow led Novato with 15 points while Brown, Maxwell and Lawrence paced Ukiah with four apiece from the foul line. Ukiah’s young squad showed hustle but could not close the gap as Novato improved and set up a likely next meeting to be a battle.

Ukiah and missing starter Chris Philbrick fought to tie at 20 20 before Novato Hornets pulled away 31 27. Doug Modrell led Ukiah with 9 points as Novato’s Vierdi scored 14 and Sparrow added 9. Ukiah Men’s Golf Club Appoints 1959 Officers

Ukiah Men’s Golf Club members will greet their new officers for the coming year at a Wednesday 7 p.m. potluck dinner at the Municipal Clubhouse. Ralph Cole becomes president succeeding Ruel Stickney, with Don Bones as vice president Ward Briggs as secretary treasurer and several board members. Bob Boobar chairs the tournament committee Rod Zimmerman heads the entertainment committee Ralph Beall handles publicity and Lee White chairs greens. May 17 Ukiah Pro Am committee is led by Bill Clarke. The three top officers form the budget committee and Stickney is honorary president. For joining details call HO 26030.
