Funeral services set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zimmerman Mortuary for Mrs. Flossie A. Cox 86 a lifelong Ukiah resident born at Round Mountain. She and husband Clarence Cox owned J. Q. White ranch 1903 and I. C. Burke ranch 1917 before retiring in 1955. Burial in Ukiah Cemetery. Survived by sons Jack and Maurice Cox and Alma Zimmerman. daughter Leta Sevals. eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Mrs Sallie Copeland 82 a native of Arkansas and Ukiah resident for 18 years died Sunday in a Ukiah convalescent hospital after a long illness. Survived by three daughters Zella Seigler Ruby Reeves Winnie McLaughlin, a son Kelley Copeland, a brother Lon Winfield, 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday 11 am at Eversole Mortuary with Rev Cornish Jones officiating. Burial Ukiah Cemetery. Church members to serve as pallbearers.

Morphine theft reported from Covelo doctor’s office
Dr E W Hill of Covelo reported a burglary at his office where several morphine vials were stolen and an attempted entry into his safe occurred. The theft occurred between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning of last week, as described to Deputy Kenneth Nystrom.

Ollie Howard Services Held in Ukiah
Final rites were conducted in Ukiah for Oliver Otis Ollie Howard 68 who died at home Thursday of a heart attack. The service was in the Eversole Mortuary chapel with Rev. Richard Taylor officiating and burial at a local cemetery. A Redwood Valley native, he lived in the area all his life and was a land surveyor. Surviving are daughters Sandra McKee and Carla Allen, sister Grace Raines, brother Ray Howard, six grandchildren, and pallbearers Ken Wilson Bob Whipple Mac Graham Bert McElroy Gene Schamber James Bertain.

Perry Andrew Dawley Jr. of Lucerne, 48, was taken into custody at Ukiah airport Saturday just before noon on bad check charges and other California business code violations. Deputy John Stephenson of the sheriff's department booked him at the county jail.

Bottles Stolen From Truck At Pepsi Distribution Center

Deputy John Bell logged the report on Sunday as police investigated the theft and later a burglary tied to vending machine keys. Officials said someone entered the back door by slipping the latch, with keys valued at 20 dollars and the burglary dating over the past two months.
