Death of Willits Cyclist After Police Chase
An 18 year old Willits youth Gene Steven Perkins died when his motorcycle crashed into a fence post on East Road near Hurst Road at 3 30 am Saturday after police began a routine stop. Perkins, a logger, reportedly fled at high speed before failing to negotiate a curve and leaving the road. Funeral arrangements are pending at Anker Lucier Mortuary.
